I went out for my last thing in the evening ’roundup’ and noticed a hedgehog in my rear garden. He was average size but I wasn’t quite sure if it was adult or not. I caught him and weighed him and he was just under 600g. I gave Andrew a quick call and he came around and examined the hedgehog. Unfortunately there were quite a few tics so it was decided that the hedgehog would need to go back to the rescue centre. Here he was weighed – 590g – and is clearly an Autumn Juvenille. TicTok has also got a nasty cough which needs attention. I am really pleased that I contacted Andrew and am hopeful that TicTok will recover soon and be able to be released again prior to the winter setting in. Hopefully just enough time to fatten him up prior to hybernation.
