About Brackley Hogwatch

Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson very sadly passed away on 18th September 2023.  He had struggled with ill health for quite some time and although it was unexpected he died peacefully at home doing what he loved.

Andrew looked after the local hedgehog population in Brackley and surrounding villages for over 10 years, and was dedicated to their survival.  During that time well over 1000 hedgehog’s lives were saved.  He was deeply knowledgeable about hedgehogs and very passionate about preventing their extinction.

Andrew will be a huge loss to Brackley as well as the wider hedgehog world.  He will be deeply missed by all his friends and followers and his many dedicated volunteers.  He was well loved and respected by the local community who admired both his dedication and determination.

Theory on Decline of the Hedgehog

Andrew’s work in documenting his theory was not completed before he sadly died in 2023. These notes have been put together by a volunteer that worked closely with him, in order to try and impart some of his findings so that others may be able to take up his hypothesis for further investigation. This is not peer-reviewed scientific research, but observations based on twelve years of studying hedgehogs.
